MEDIO AMBIENTE Y DESIERTO FLORIDO

ABOGADO CANDIDATO A LA CONVENCIÓN CONSTITUCIONAL.-
Es deber del Estado cuidar el medio ambiente y buscar la mejor utilización de los recursos naturales, de manera de asegurar la sostenibilidad de los proyectos económicos.
Esta clara definición debe ser reforzada en la nueva Constitución, porque está meridianamente claro que Chile y la Región de Atacama han venido sensibilizándose con esta materia en el último tiempo.
Se trata de la Madre Naturaleza y la forma como se concibe la relación que debemos mantener con ella, pues somos interdependientes y, algo categórico, de ese vínculo depende la sobrevivencia humana de las nuevas generaciones.
La fauna y la flora se debe preservar, así como la existencia de cualquier ser vivo, situación que se hace palpable con nuestro Desierto Florido, que irrumpe desde la tierra después de haberse registrado precipitaciones en la estación anterior.
Estos admirables episodios en uno de los desiertos más áridos del mundo han merecido cada vez cuidados y protecciones para que la gama de más de 200 especies de flores naturales brinde paisajes multicolores que, luego, se ocultan en bulbos, esperando nuevas lluvias para renacer.
Es una materia de interés público y colectivo de los atacameños que debe ser otra de las preocupaciones para considerar en el momento en que la nueva Carta Fundamental aborde el siempre sensible tema del medio ambiente.
Del mismo modo, en el habitante urbano de las principales ciudades -sobre todo las generaciones emergentes- se ha despertado una nueva conciencia en el cuidado de mascotas, que se ha transformado en una creciente corriente que procura la defensa de los derechos de los animales.
De este modo, se hace notorio que el respeto por el entorno no es un asunto insustancial o superficial.
Somos parte de un todo y el cuidado integral del medio ambiente debe asegurar la sostenibilidad para mantener una conexión beneficiosa en los anhelos de mejores futuros para todos y cada uno de los ciudadanos de la Región de Atacama.
Plasmar ese sentimiento en la nueva Constitución es una oportunidad real que tenemos a la vista.
