Wilson Piñones, histórico jugador de CDCopiapó: “Me encantaría poder seguir aportando y dar lo mejor para el club desde la formación”

El próximo lunes, jugadores y cuerpo técnico volverán a los entrenamientos de cara al debut de la segunda rueda del Torneo Nacional de Primera B contra Unión San Felipe. Algunos fueron a pasar sus vacaciones a Argentina y otros al sur de Chile, pero todos regresarán este fin de semana a Copiapó.

Luego de un complicado comienzo de temporada, el conjunto copiapino se afirmó, finalizando la primera parte en la quinta posición y en zona de liguilla. El “León de Atacama” ha mostrado un fútbol que ilusiona a hinchas, directiva y cuerpo técnico con pelear hasta el final, tal como en la campaña 2021, el cupo a la Primera División.

Uno de los más ilusionados con el avance del club y que destacó en la temporada pasada fue Wilson Piñones Aguirre, experimentado jugador con casi 400 partidos en CDCopiapó y 18 temporadas en el profesionalismo, quien comenzó en el fútbol gracias a otro histórico de Regional Atacama y quien fuera el primer DT de Deportes Copiapó, don Wilson Piñones Puelles, su padre.  

Este viernes, conversamos en exclusiva con el “Piña” sobre sus inicios en el fútbol y sus expectativas de cara a la segunda rueda del ascenso. También, hablamos sobre el actual momento del fútbol joven en Copiapó y la importancia de resaltar a jugadores locales para el éxito del club.

P: ¿Qué te llevó a elegir el fútbol? ¿Quién te inspiró?

R: Yo comencé desde muy chico, a los ocho o nueve años. En ese entonces, yo acompañaba a mi padre cuando era futbolista de Regional Atacama y después cuando fue técnico del mismo equipo. Además, mi padre fue el primer director técnico de Deportes Copiapó. Comencé a hacer viajes y entrenamientos acompañándolo a él.

En esos años agarré cariño al fútbol, pienso que lo llevo en la sangre.

Empecé a jugar en los Halcones Rojos, un equipo de barrio en el sector de Pedro León Gallo y después entré a la escuela de fútbol de Regional Atacama, la cual se transformó al poco tiempo en Deportes Copiapó.

Ya van 18 años de carrera y la mayor parte ha sido aquí en Copiapó. Soy copiapino de toda la vida.

P: ¿Cómo fue tu proceso de transición al profesionalismo?

R: Fue un proceso largo junto a los profes Rubén Sánchez, Víctor Palma y otros profes que había en ese tiempo, por ejemplo, Jaime Vivar, Rodrigo Dorador y Eduardo Peralta, quienes fueron parte del club en sus inicios.

En el proceso de formación, éramos ocho jugadores aproximadamente los que estábamos en proyecto y hoy soy el único que va quedando, sin embargo, varios fuimos parte del primer equipo.

Hoy sigue siendo un proceso difícil, pero lo más difícil es mantenerse. Constancia, esfuerzo y sacrificio son lo elementos que importan. Otro elemento es el cuerpo técnico que esté y que ellos puedan ir subiendo a jugadores de la ciudad al primer equipo. Creo que es importante que sean jugadores de casa, pero también depende de ellos. Esto no se regala, esto se gana.

P: ¿Cómo ves a los actuales cadetes del club luego de la pandemia?

R: He tenido la oportunidad de ir a ver varios partidos de las divisiones menores. Todo este proceso se complicó con la pandemia y siempre ha sido complejo por un tema geográfico, estamos lejos en cuanto a los viajes.

En cuanto a la infraestructura, estamos recién comenzando a mejorar algunas cosas que son básicas para estar bien y entregar las mejores armas a los más jóvenes para desarrollarse en todo ámbito. Todos queremos que los objetivos se cumplan y los resultados lleguen pronto.

P: Mañana hay una actividad en el colegio Héroes de Atacama sobre jóvenes líderes, ¿qué le dirías a aquellos niños o niñas copiapinas que quieren seguir una carrera en el fútbol?

R: A todos aquellos que sientan amor por algún deporte les diría que no teman, tienen que hacerlo y desarrollarse en lo que son buenos. Si bien hoy la juventud pasó por una pandemia que nos afectó a todos, nunca es tarde para poder cumplir los sueños.

También les diría que tengan dedicación, responsabilidad en todo sentido y eso es lo primordial en cualquier deporte para poder desarrollarlo.

P: En todos estos años en el club, ¿cómo evalúas tu relación con la hinchada?

R: Yo soy un copiapino de corazón, hincha del club y siento mucho amor por la camiseta al igual que cualquier hincha. Aquí me conocen harto y yo también conozco a mucha gente, pero el fútbol es de momentos y hoy no me ha tocado jugar. A pesar de eso, siento mucho cariño de la gente y sobre todo de quienes tienen el conocimiento de lo que yo he logrado y aportado en el club.

Me considero parte de la historia del club y he puesto toda mi dedicación en esto.

El año pasado hicimos una excelente campaña y me tocó jugar en la mayoría de los partidos, yo creo que ese era el momento en que el club pegara el salto. En esos momentos el hincha se portó muy bien y nos acompañó siempre en los partidos. Insisto en que el fútbol es de momentos y ese momento fue uno de los mejores.

Por otro lado, hubo malos momentos en los cuales no se pagaban los sueldos y tuvimos un descenso a segunda división. Como te dije, son muchos años de carrera con altos y bajos.

P: ¿Te gustaría seguir tu carrera en Deportes Copiapó?

R: Si claro. Este es mi último año estudiando para ser director técnico y, si sale todo bien, me quedarían solo estos seis meses para poder titularme.

Cuando vas conociendo el fútbol desde otra perspectiva, también te propones nuevos objetivos, proyectos y se agarra el gustito de seguir en este deporte, así que me encantaría poder seguir aportando y dar lo mejor para el club desde la formación.

P: ¿Cómo ves la energía del actual plantel de cara a la segunda rueda del ascenso?

R: Nos costó al principio tomar la idea futbolística del cuerpo técnico, nos costó sentirnos bien en la cancha, pero ya estamos mejor. En estos últimos partidos se pudo retomar el nivel y ajustar las piezas para lograr los resultados.

Si queremos mantener un buen rendimiento, hay que hacerse fuerte de local y debemos mantener una regularidad en ese sentido. Afuera lo hacemos bien, siempre somos un buen rival jugando de visita, pero no podemos perder más puntos de local.

Hasta el momento, la evaluación es buena, ya que estamos en una buena posición y dentro de la liguilla. Podríamos haber estado mejor, pero queda esta segunda rueda y esperamos finalizar de la mejor forma.

Pienso que la segunda rueda va a ser mas complicada, los demás equipos se están reforzando. En ese sentido, nosotros tenemos que seguir mejorando y no bajar del nivel que mantuvimos en varios partidos.

P: ¿Cuál es el mensaje para la hinchada que espera seguir viéndolos en la parte final del torneo?

R: Para los jugadores lo más importante es que el hincha pueda creer en nosotros. Mi mensaje para ellos es que confíen en que este grupo quiere hacer las cosas bien.

Además, les quiero pedir tanto a la institución como a los hinchas que nos identifiquemos con el club y con la ciudad. En los últimos años el club ha ido mejorando y cada vez se están haciendo más cosas para acercar a la hinchada. En años anteriores, terminaba el campeonato y se iban todos. Ahora no es así, se está haciendo lo posible por que siga la mayoría y creo que eso mantiene una idea de grupo, un conocimiento y una identidad.

Esperamos que el hincha se pueda identificar cada vez más con nosotros y con el club.
