Tabilo cae en un dramático partido ante Ymer y Suecia vence a Chile en el repechaje de Copa Davis
El equipo chileno de Copa Davis perdió la serie ante Suecia en el Royal Tennis Hall, en Estocolmo, luego de la increíble derrota este sábado de Alejandro Tabilo (173º de la ATP) en el máximo de sets ante Mikael Ymer (67º).
Los dueños de casa estructuraron un 3-1 incontrarrestable para el equipo capitaneado por Nicolás Massú y jugarán en noviembre próximo las Finales de la Copa Davis en la ciudad de Madrid, España.
En tanto, Chile jugará ante un rival del Grupo Mundial II por la permanencia.
Tabilo contó con un match point en el segundo set para poner la serie 2-2, pero desperdició la gran chance y de allí cayó en un pozo del cual no pudo salir. El número uno de los suecos terminó ganando con parciales de 3-6, 7-5 y 6-3.
En la primera manga, el singlista número uno de Chile consiguió un quiebre clave en el sexto game para quedar 4-2, ventaja que sostendría hasta ganar el set.
En la hora de la verdad, Mikael Ymer presentó mayor fortaleza mental en los puntos claves, además de mayor fondo físico, y con un break en el octavo game se puso 5-3. Luego, el local cerró sin problemas el partido con su servicio.
Así, Chile pierde la serie contra los suecos y no dirá presente en las Finales de la Copa Davis, torneo que sí jugó a fines de 2019 y en donde cayó en su grupo con Argentina y Alemania.
