Sonami: “La caída de 9,3% en la producción minera era esperable”

La baja en el índice se explica principalmente por el fuerte retroceso de 9,3% que mostró la producción minera.
Al respecto, el presidente de la Sociedad Nacional de Minería (Sonami), Diego Hernández, estimó que, no obstante la caída de 9,3% que registró la producción minera en diciembre, la minería será la única actividad económica relevante que mostrará crecimiento en 2020”.
“La caída de la producción está dentro de nuestras proyecciones que hicimos con anterioridad, ya que sostuvimos que registraríamos un importante retroceso en el último trimestre debido a la alta base de comparación”, sostuvo el directivo.
El presidente de Sonami destacó que, de acuerdo a los datos del INE, la producción minera tuvo el 2020 un leve crecimiento de 0,5%. “Hay que esperar el Imacec Minero que la próxima semana entregará el Banco Central para conocer el resultado final del año, que estimamos cerrará con un crecimiento de la actividad minera cercano a 1%”, puntualizó.
