Según encuesta elaborada por Desoc, Coes y Centro de microdatos de la U. de Chile: 8 de cada 10 chilenos están de acuerdo en modificar la Constitución
Un amplio respaldo a las movilizaciones sociales, a un cambio de la Constitución de la República y a la Asamblea Constituyente mostró el Termómetro Social del mes de octubre, encuesta elaborada por el Núcleo Milenio en Desarrollo Social (Desoc), el Centro de Microdatos de la Universidad de Chile y el Centro de Estudios de Conflicto y Cohesión Social (COES).
De acuerdo al estudio, un 85,8 por ciento de la población dijo estar de acuerdo con el movimiento social, mientras que solo 7,3 por ciento se manifestó en desacuerdo con el movimiento.
Asimismo, una amplia mayoría considera necesario el cambio de la Constitución, ya que el 80,7 por ciento de los encuestados considera que es bastante o muy importante para el país hacerlo, mientras que un 9,5 por ciento indica que es algo importante y un 6,5 por ciento opina que es poco o nada importante.
El anterior resultado está en línea con el 76 por ciento que señala que se encuentra muy disconforme o disconforme con la actual Constitución, mientras que solo un 9,8 por ciento dice estar conforme o muy conforme.
Además, en el caso hipotético de que se cambiara la Constitución, el 75,7 por ciento de las personas plantearon que el mecanismo para hacerlo debiera ser una Asamblea Constituyente electa por los ciudadanos, mientras que solo el 14,7 por ciento opina que debe ser responsabilidad de un grupo de expertos y apenas 3,4 por ciento considera que le corresponde al Parlamento.
En cuanto a las emociones que provoca el eventual cambio de la Constitución, más de un 92,5 por ciento de los encuestados señala no ser indiferente emocionalmente al tema y la mayoría, más del 87 por ciento de la población, señala sentir «esperanza» e «interés», mientras que solo a un 19,2 por ciento le provoca «miedo» y un 35,4 por ciento «ansiedad».
En cuanto a las principales demandas, estas son Pensiones, Salud y Educación.

Mientras que sobre la confianza en las distintas instituciones, Bomberos y las organizaciones de voluntarios cuentan con los mejores resultados, seguidos por Universidades, el INDH, Hospitales y Juntas de Vecinos.
Los peores índices de confianza lo obtienen el Presidente de la República, los Ministros, los Parlamentarios y los Partidos Políticos, seguidos por siguen Carabineros, Fuerzas Armadas, Empresarios, Tribunales y Organizaciones religiosas.
