Nuevo presidente de Perú nombra gabinete con abogada feminista a la cabeza
El nuevo presidente de Perú, Francisco Sagasti, designó este miércoles a los ministros de su gabinete, que estará encabezado por una abogada feminista y que incluye a dos excolaboradores del destituido Martín Vizcarra.
La nueva jefa del gabinete es la abogada Violeta Bermúdez, de 59 años, una experta en temas constitucionales y de género. Hay ocho mujeres en el nuevo gabinete, algunas de ellas reconocidas feministas en un país con tradición machista.
Sagasti asumió el poder el martes con el desafío de terminar la mayor crisis política en dos décadas en el país andino, marcada por el paso de tres presidentes en el lapso de ocho días.
En el ministerio de Economía y Finanzas fue nombrado Waldo Mendoza, un economista de izquierda que fue viceministro de Hacienda del expresidente Alejandro Toledo (2001-2006) y celoso de la prudencia fiscal.
Como jefa de la diplomacia asumió Esther Astete, quien era embajadora en México, mientras que como ministro del Interior fue nombrado Rubén Vargas, quien había sido viceministro de seguridad durante el gobierno de Ollanta Humala (2011-2016) y exjefe antidrogas de Vizcarra (2018-2020).
En Salud fue nombrada Pilar Mazzetti, una médica experta en salud pública que ocupaba el mismo cargo hasta hace nueve días con Vizcarra, por lo que desde hace meses estaba encargada de los esfuerzos por contener la pandemia de covid-19, que ha contagiado a más de 930.000 peruanos y matado a 35.000.
