MOP: Proyecto del nuevo Museo Regional de Copiapó se encuentra en Proceso de Adjudicación

El Ministerio de Obras Públicas informó que ya ingresó a Toma de Razón por parte de la Contraloría el proyecto de Construcción del Museo Regional de Copiapó, el que alcanza una inversión del orden de los $ 9.565 millones y que actualmente se encuentra en Proceso de Adjudicación.
La Construcción que estará a cargo del MOP Atacama, a través de su Dirección Regional de Arquitectura, proyecta un edificio de última generación distribuido en 3 niveles superiores y 2 subterráneos, además contará con una fachada continua hacia la Alameda Manuel Antonio Matta, con lo cual consolidará la calidad de uno de los barrios más tradicionales e históricos de la ciudad de Copiapó.
El Seremi de Obras Públicas, Alfredo Campbell, informó, “efectivamente, este importante proyecto que forma parte de los compromisos presidenciales se encuentra en proceso de adjudicación y su consolidación, permitirá aportar a la Puesta en Valor del Patrimonio, desarrollo cultural, educativo, social y económico de los habitantes de la Región de Atacama. El inicio del contrato se proyecta para el mes de Octubre y su inversión que supera los 9 mil millones de pesos aprox., es financiada por el Gobierno Regional a través del Fondo Nacional de Desarrollo Regional FNDR, con aportes de gastos administrativos por parte del Servicio Nacional del Patrimonio Cultural (SNPC) – Ministerio de las Culturas, las Artes y el Patrimonio”.
La autoridad agregó, “es importante destacar que la ejecución de esta obra tendrá un alto impacto en la generación de empleos, siendo este aspecto una de las prioridades del Gobierno del Presidente Sebastián Piñera, estimándose un alto porcentaje de contratación de mano de obra local, es así como paso a paso vamos entregando condiciones positivas en el aspecto laboral, condiciones que necesitamos para salir de la crisis económica en la que nos encontramos. El proyecto estima la contratación promedio de 180 trabajadores/mes, con lo cual estaremos contribuyendo significativamente a la reactivación económica de nuestra región.”

DIRECTOR DEL MUSEO:
Por su parte, Guillermo Cortés Lutz, director del Museo Regional de Atacama, se mostró muy complacido con la concreción de dicho proyecto cultural.

“El equipo del Museo Regional de Atacama, no puede menos que estar feliz sobre la eminente construcción del nuevo Museo.  Este proceso comenzó el año 2007 cuando se realizó el primer estudio de pre factibilidad para elegir los mejores sitios donde poder expandir el proyecto de Museo Regional de Atacama,  el año 2009, sufrimos un duro revés  cuando se nos informó  que no podríamos ocupar  el sitio de Alameda .
Agregó que “En el año 2010, para el aniversario del Museo, conversando sobre cómo expandir y mejorar el Museo, la Intendenta de la época Ximena Matas, se comprometió a estudiar la posibilidad de  entregar el actual sitio para el proyecto del nuevo Museo.  Junto al Consejo Regional, el que siempre  dio su  apoyo decidido  al nuevo museo,  más el apoyo de la Dirección de Arquitectura, se avanzó hasta llegar a este momento  donde estamos ad portas de dar un giro a la memoria, la historia y el patrimonio de Atacama,  con la construcción de un Museo de clase mundial, que  nos dará  prestigio  y pondrá en valor todo nuestro rico y heterogéneo patrimonio”.

LAS OBRAS DEL PROYECTO:

La ejecución de la obra tiene un plazo de 600 días y su diseño considera altos estándares de seguridad para la conservación de las colecciones de Historia, Arte, Ciencias Naturales y Arqueológicas que resguarda actualmente el Museo Regional. El Director Regional de Arquitectura, Juan Antonio Cortes, indicó, que “el proyecto incluye la habilitación de espacios suficientes para la difusión y educación del Patrimonio de Atacama, además se incorporarán áreas de exposición permanente de Historia Natural, Paleontología, Arqueología, Historia de Atacama y Minería. También áreas de exposiciones temporales para todo ámbito cultural, laboratorios y depósitos. Contará también con sala de convenciones, biblioteca y hemeroteca, junto a servicios complementarios, como oficinas administrativas, bodegaje y estacionamientos. Este nuevo Museo entregará los espacios para la exposición del arte y la cultura en su más amplia expresión, permitiendo rescatar y promover la rica historia de nuestra región, su cultura, su presente y ser una ventana hacia el visitante de nuestro país y el mundo”.
Para finalizar el Seremi Campbell señaló, “sin duda la construcción de este tipo de Infraestructuras Públicas dedicadas a la protección, investigación y exhibición del patrimonio y sus colecciones, fortalecen las posibilidades de acceso a la cultura y el arte, preservando el patrimonio e identidad regional, incrementando espacios de desarrollo para la comunidad y los artistas locales”.
