Manufacturas en Chile caen 13,3 % en mayo y producción de cobre avanza débil
Las manufacturas en Chile retrocedieron un fuerte 13,3 % en mayo afectadas en gran medida por la baja en la elaboración de productos alimenticios en medio de las restricciones impuestas por la pandemia de coronavirus, dijo el martes el gobierno.
El Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas (INE) informó también que la producción de cobre subió un débil 0,6 % interanual a 495.604 toneladas en el quinto mes. Con esta cifra, la extracción del metal acumuló un alza del 3,4 % a mayo.
La caída en la producción manufacturera sigue al retroceso de 5,9 % de abril, cuando ya estaban en vigencia las medidas contra la expansión del virus. Por su parte el Índice de Actividad del Comercio se desplomó un 23,5 % en mayo, mientras que las ventas de supermercados subieron un 2,3 % en doce meses.
Mientras que el índice de producción de Electricidad, Gas y Agua (IPEGA) descendió 3,2 % en relación con mayo de 2019. Esto, debido a que las tres actividades que lo componen presentaron una reducción, especialmente gas, que disminuyó 10,9 %.
