Lewis Hamilton dio positivo a COVID-19
El piloto británico Lewis Hamilton dio positivo por Coronavirus y no podrá disputar el Gran Premio de Sakhir, en Baréin, el próximo fin de semana, anunciaron este martes su equipo y la Federación Internacional del Automóvil (FIA).
“Se despertó el lunes con ligeros síntomas y, al mismo tiempo, fue informado de que una persona con la que estuvo en contacto antes de su llegada a Baréin (la semana pasada) dio positivo”, dijo el Mercedes en un comunicado.
Lewis se sometió a un test de diagnóstico y dio positivo. “Se siente bien”, agregó su equipo.
“En este momento está aislado”, explicó la FIA en su comunicado oficial, estimando que los procedimientos sanitarios establecidos hacen que su diagnóstico no tenga mayor impacto en la prueba de este fin de semana.
El nombre del piloto que le reemplazará todavía no ha sido anunciado. Mercedes tiene dos en reserva: el mexicano Estaban Gutiérrez y el belga Stoffel Vandoorne.
Lewis Hamilton, que ya es campeón del mundo de 2020, tiene en su haber siete títulos mundiales, un récord que solo comparte con el alemán Michael Schumacher.
El domingo pasado el británico se proclamó campeón del Gran Premio de Baréin. El próximo fin de semana se disputa el Gran Premio de Sakhir de Fórmula 1, también en el circuito internacional de Baréin.
