Justicia de Texas falló contra beneficio a jóvenes migrantes y prohibió emitir más permisos
Un juez federal de Texas dictaminó este viernes que el programa de Acción Diferida para los inmigrantes Llegados en la Infancia (DACA) violó la ley estadounidense cuando se creó, y prohibió conceder nuevos permisos bajo este marco.
El magistrado Andrew Hanen se puso del lado de un grupo de nueve estados republicanos -liderados por Texas- que pidió el fin al programa en 2018, argumentando que fue creado ilegalmente en 2012 por el ex presidente Barack Obama (2009-2017).
La decisión llega casi siete meses después de que Hanen escuchara los argumentos de las partes en esta demanda encabezada por el fiscal general de Texas, Ken Paxton, contra el beneficio federal, que ampara actualmente a más de 650.000 jóvenes indocumentados y que estaba abierto a nuevos solicitantes.
