Inauguran emblemática Casa Maldini Tornini en Copiapó
La histórica casa Maldini Torini de Copiapó, terminó su esperado proceso de restauración y está lista para albergar un nuevo centro cultural para toda la comunidad de Atacama.
En un evento encabezado por el Gobernador Regional de Atacama, Miguel Vargas Correa, el Delegado Presidencial, Patricio Urquieta García, el Senador Rafael Prohens Espinoza, el Director Nacional de Arquitectura del MOP, Raúl Irarrazabal Sánchez, los Seremi de Obras Públicas, Alfredo Campbell Aguilar y de Cultura María Cecilia Simunovic Ramírez, el Rector de la Universidad de Atacama, Celso Arias Mora, entre otras autoridades, se llevó a cabo la esperada Inauguración de la Restaurada Casa Maldini-Tornini en la ciudad de Copiapó.
El Gobernador de Atacama, Miguel Vargas Correa, manifestó que “junto con ser una obra que rescata nuestra historia, que fomenta el desarrollo cultural y genera identidad, es un paso más que damos como región a través del programa Puesta en Valor del Patrimonio, donde participan distintas entidades públicas. Quiero destacar el rol de la Universidad de Atacama, de la Dirección de Arquitectura, de la Subsecretaría de Desarrollo Regional, a través de la provisión de patrimonio, y por cierto, del Gobierno Reinal de Atacama que también aporta los recursos para financiar obras tan importantes como la Iglesia Nuestra Señora del Carmen en Chañaral, Santa Rosa de Lima en Freirina, el Edificio Los Portales en la misma comuna, ahora esta, la Casa Maldini Tornini y el Palacete Villa Viña de Cristo que está en plena ejecución en dependencias de la UDA, además de terminar los diseños del Acueducto Amolanas y la Iglesia Presbiteriana en la comuna de Chañaral”.
La primera autoridad de la región de Atacama, aseveró que estas obras son una muestra que la cultura nos engrandece y “en eso tenemos que seguir trabajando juntos, porque ese es el desafío que también implica el proceso de descentralización en el cual estamos trabajando, porque necesitamos que las regiones sigan avanzando, y para eso el rescate de nuestra cultura, nuestro patrimonio y la protección de él también es muy importante, y más aún en el mes de Atacama nos parece de trascendental relevancia”.
El Delegado Presidencial de Atacama, Patricio Urquieta García, aseveró que desde el Gobierno se ha realizado un gran esfuerzo “por impulsar la recuperación de espacios que tienen que estar abiertos a la comunidad, recuperando la historia y proyectando la identidad que tenemos como región. Hoy día estamos inaugurando la casa Maldini Tornini, en la que se ha dedicado mucho esfuerzo por parte del Gobierno a través de la Subsecretaría de Desarrollo Regional que financió el diseño y más del 40% de la obra en conjunto con el Gobierno Regional que puso la otra mitad de los esfuerzos financieros, y a través de la Dirección de Arquitectura hemos recuperado un espacio que recoge lo mejor de la historia que hemos vivido en Atacama, particularmente de la inmigración de europeos y personas que vinieron a invertir y trabajar en la región a partir del Mineral Chañarcillo que brindó una época de auge económico a la ciudad de Copiapó. Por eso estamos contentos, porque creemos que hay un esfuerzo que se ha visto de manera conjunta entre diversas instituciones, que ha permitido poner en valor uno de los lugares simbólicos de Copiapó”.
La restauración incluyó trabajos en salones multiuso, que serán habilitados para la realización de actividades culturales y artísticas, y la ampliación de uno de ellos, lo que permitirá recibir a mayor cantidad de público. También se realizaron mejoras en los espacios exteriores, como el antejardín y patio, manteniendo la coherencia con la arquitectura del edificio, y se generaron nuevos ambientes para el encuentro, como una cafetería.
