IMACEC de septiembre se expande sólo 3% en el último registro previo a la crisis
La economía chilena se expandió en septiembre a su menor nivel desde junio de este año y se ubicó por debajo de las expectativas del mercado. Así lo informó esta mañana el Banco Central, el cual indicó que el Indicador Mensual de Actividad Económica (IMACEC) del noveno mes del año creció un 3,0% en comparación con igual periodo del año anterior.
La serie desestacionalizada cayó 0,6% respecto del mes precedente y creció 2,2% en doce meses. El mes registró un día hábil más que septiembre de 2018. La expansión de 3% de septiembre se trata de un crecimiento que se ubica por debajo de las expectativas del mercado, el cual había estimado en la última Encuesta de Expectativas Económicas del Banco Central un alza de 3,6%. Cabe destacar que el registro dado a conocer este lunes(ayer) se trata del último dato de crecimiento previo a la crisis social que estalló el 18 de octubre en el país.
En ese sentido, el ministro de Hacienda, Ignacio Briones, adelantó que «lo más probable» es que en el mes de octubre haya un Imacec negativo. De acuerdo a la información publicada por el Central, el IMACEC minero cayó 1,6%, su peor registro desde marzo, cuando cayó 1,7%. Por su parte, el IMACEC no minero creció 3,5%, mismo nivel que había anotado el mes de agosto. Según consignó el ente rector, el dato de la actividad no minera se vio favorecido por el desempeño de las actividades de servicios y construcción.
Por último, el instituto emisor recordó que los resultados preliminares del PIB correspondientes al tercer trimestre del año en curso, así como las revisiones del primer y segundo trimestre, serán difundidos el próximo 18 de noviembre.
