EXTRA: Ministerio de Salud reporta primer fallecido por Covid-19 en Chile
El Ministro de Salud, Jaime Mañalich, confirmó la primera muerte por causa del Covid-19 en Chile, detallando que se trata de una mujer de 83 de años, de la comuna de Renca, que contaba con antecedentes de “múltiples patologías”, entre ellas una enfermedad pulmonar obstructiva crónica.
Con respecto a la forma de contagio, el ministro explicó que la mujer participó de una reunión familiar con alrededor de 20 personas, entre las cuales se encontraba una persona que viajó al extranjero, que no presentaba síntomas en ese momento, pero que posteriormente fue diagnosticada con el Covid-19.
La persona fallecida acudió a un servicio de urgencia el martes 17 de marzo y fue testeada ese mismo día. Al día siguiente fue internada en el Hospital San Juan de Dios, luego de que su condición empeorara.
Durante la madrugada de hoy, se estado de salud se deterioró gravemente y la familia decidió no aplicar tratamientos intensivos.
Los familiares de la fallecida se encuentran en estricta cuarentena domiciliaria.
