En una jornada maratónica la Sala de la Cámara de Diputados aprobó la acusación constitucional en contra del Presidente Sebastián Piñera. Primero el diputado PS Jaime Naranjo expuso por más de 15 horas con tan solo dos pausas en ese período (una de 15 minutos, y otra de 20). Luego fue el turno del abogado del Mandatario, Jorge Gálvez, para replicar a los argumentos expuestos por el legislador, cuya intervención duró alrededor de cuatro horas, para luego dar paso a las intervenciones de las bancadas.
Finalmente, la Sala decidió por 78 a favor, 67 en contra y tres abstenciones de Pepe Auth, Pablo Lorenzini, y Carlos Abel Jarpa., con esto la acusación fue declarada admisible y pasa al Senado.
