En prisión preventiva imputados que guiaban caravana de autos robados por la ruta 5 Norte

La Fiscalía de Atacama formalizó la investigación en contra de una agrupación criminal que se dedicaba al transporte de vehículos robados desde distintas ciudades y hasta la zona norte del país.

Los antecedentes de esta causa los entregó el fiscal jefe de Chañaral, Marco Arenas Zeballos, quien indicó que se trata de tres detenidos que guiaban la misma cantidad de vehículos por la ruta 5 Norte en modo caravana y que, además, circulaban a exceso de velocidad. “El procedimiento se concretó alrededor de las 7 horas luego que los imputados fueran fiscalizados por personal de Carabineros de esta ciudad, quienes detectaron que los tres vehículos mantenían sus placas patentes adulteradas”, indicó el fiscal.

Arenas agregó que a partir de este antecedentes se ordenó el trabajo de la Sección de Encargo y Búsqueda de Vehículos (SEBV) de Carabineros, procediendo con la revisión respectiva de los autos pudiendo establecer que se les habían practicado maniobras ilícitas destinadas a modificar sus números de identificación de fábrica para luego reemplazar estos códigos y así darle una nueva identidad a partir del uso de documentación falsa.

“Este trabajo investigativo permitió identificar a los verdaderos dueños de las especies, quienes habían denunciado el robo de sus vehículos en las comunas de Coquimbo, Huechuraba y Melipilla; ordenando la Fiscalía su devolución luego del trámite administrativo propio de este tipo de procedimiento”, dijo el fiscal.

Con estos antecedentes y dada la gravedad del delito, la Fiscalía comunicó en audiencia a los detenidos que serán investigados por su participación consumada de los delitos de receptación de vehículo motorizado robado, utilización de placas patentes adulteradas y uso de documentos falsificados. Con ello, y por considerar a los detenidos un peligro para la seguridad de la sociedad, la Fiscalía solicitó al Juez de turno la medida cautelar de prisión preventiva, accediendo el Tribunal a dicha petición y ordenando el ingreso de los detenidos a la cárcel de esta ciudad.
