En Copiapó registro alcanzó los 18,8 milímetros: Agua caída y nieve en varios sectores superaron todos los pronósticos previos sin provocar daños a personas e infraestructuras.
En horas de la mañana de ayer, en las oficinas de Onemi, autoridades de la región ante la presencia de los medios de comunicación, dieron a conocer los primeros antecedentes en relación al frente de mal tiempo que afectó gran parte de la región, con lluvia desde las últimas horas de la tarde del martes que se fueron intensificando en horas de lo noche pasando a caída de nieve, especialmente en la comuna de Diego de Almagro, lluvias y nieve que superaron altamente los pronósticos conocidos con antelación. Frente ante esta situación sorpresiva para todos, el director regional de Onemi, Roberto Muñoz, indicó “Ayer la Dirección Meteorológica de Chile en su aviso meteorológico 20022 que indicaba monto del orden en Costa y Valle de 2 a 7 milímetros. Durante el desarrollo de este evento en la noche se monitorearon las estaciones meteorológicas en línea que cuenta con los servicios público de Atacama y registró un pick en la comuna de Copiapó urbano de 18.8 milímetros de aguas caídas, superior a las últimas precipitaciones que hemos tenido durante el años. Situación conllevó a reforzar los monitoreos de cómo se comportaba la ciudad ante esta agua caída. Nosotros hicimos rondas durante la noche, tuvimos vigilando puntos críticos y la Ciudad se comportó bastante bien en términos de labores de mitigación que ha desarrollado el sistema en los últimos años, condición que nos da tranquilidad y esa situación conlleva que el sistema está funcionando en términos de la prevención”, indicó Muñoz. Al ser requerido sobre la existencia de personas damnificadas reportó que hasta el momento de entregar el primer balance no existían todavía antecedentes al respecto.
Por su parte, el delegado Presidencial Patricio Urquieta, precisó mayores datos sobre el agua y nieve caída durante la noche en diversas comunas de la región e inconvenientes menores a causa de desplazamiento de tierra y roca en algunos sectores, comentendo “cayeron 18,8 milímetros en la comuna de Copiapó, 6 milímetros en la comuna de Vallenar, 10 milímetros en la comuna de Chañaral, y todas las comunas de la Región presentaron precipitaciones. Tuvimos 15 centímetros de nieve en Cordillera, en el caso de Cerro Negro aquí en la comuna de Copiapó cayeron aproximadamente 3 centímetros y la situación de las personas en general es buena, en general la Región aguantó las precipitaciones que recibimos a pesar que no son muy inusuales en las condiciones que se presentó pero en general la infraestructura de la Región soportó las precipitaciones, permitirá que la conectividad se mantuviera en todo los sectores de la región, si en un sector de la comuna de Alto del Carmen donde se presentaron algunos rodados hubo tránsito con precaución en horas de la noche lo mismo en el sector de Llanta en la comuna de Diego de Almagro” señaló la autoridad.
Más adelante, agregó “Tuvimos una interrupción del suministro eléctrico durante la jornada de la noche también en la comuna Diego de Almagro que fue repuesta en horas de la mañana. Algunos cortes de menor magnitud en otras partes de la comuna como en el caso de Copiapó durante la mañana en el sector alto de la comuna de Copiapó que también fue repuesto”, concluyó Uquieta.
