Empresario copiapino Roberto Masso celebra 60 años de matrimonio con María Inés Hormazábal

(Por Héctor Naveas Olguín).- Roberto Masso Briceño, empresario inmobiliario, gastronómico y minero de la ciudad de Copiapó y conocido nacional e internacionalmente como promotor e impulsor del proyecto Corredor Bioceánico del Noa para transportar a través de modernos ferrocarriles desde Argentina a Chile el agro trasandino de la zona ATACALAR para exportarlo por los puertos de la Región de Atacama al mundo entero, se encuentra celebrando hoy 2 de abril del 2021 sesenta años de su hermoso matrimonio junto a María Inés Hormazábal Hernández, compañera de toda una vida y a quien conoció desde muy joven, hace 71 años.  

Este nuevo aniversario matrimonial sorprende a la pareja en plenitud, y muy dichosos, felices por todo lo conseguido, donde ha primado el esfuerzo, la perseverancia, la dedicación, y por sobre todas las cosas, el trabajo honesto y esmerado.

Roberto Masso nació el 6 de Junio de 1941 en Talca. Hijo de Don Juan Isaac Masso Castro y Doña Rosa Ester Briceño Berdugo. Fue el hijo número 13 de su padre y el quinto de su madre, ambos viudos. Cuando recién Roberto tenía 8 años fallece su madre.
Su padre se vuelve a casar con Doña Gladys del Carmen Hormazábal. Hermana mayor de María Inés Hormazábal Hernández, una niña de 5 años. Esto fue el año 1949. Conoció a María Inés cuando tenía 8 años y ella 5.

“Ha sido toda una vida juntos. Crecimos juntos, y el 2 de Abril de 1961 nos unimos en matrimonio. María Inés tenía 16 años y yo 19, y resulté padre a los 20 años”, nos relata un emocionado Roberto Masso al recordar su juventud y los comienzos de su relación con María Inés.

Roberto y María Inés son padres de 5 hijos: Roberto, Darío, Julio, Inés y Claudia.
Masso desde muy joven se convierte en abuelo y a la fecha este matrimonio ya cuenta con 11 nietos: Cristhofer, Nicole, Daniel, Fairud, Julio, Taufit, Samia, Samirah, Alonso, Yazid y Zeina. A los 67 años en bisabuelo, y en la actualidad disfrutan de 5 nietos: Elías, Maira, Nazli, Nasir y Samir.

En Enero de 1970, a los 29 años, ingresaron como familia a la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días (Mormona).
En el año 1976 se sellaron en matrimonio por la eternidad en el templo de Provo Huta EE. UU. para servir como Obispo en el barrio Recoleta de Santiago de Chile, siendo el Obispo más joven a los 35 años de edad.

El 10 de marzo de 1980 llegó a Copiapó a terminar la primera capilla mormona, para pasar las vacaciones de invierno en Caldera junto a su esposa e hijos.
“Mi mujer se enamoró del clima y mis cinco hijos disfrutaron de la Playa Mansa, y es cuando a partir de ese momento nace el cariño y al amor por esta tierra”, señala Masso.

Siempre con un gran espíritu emprendedor y visionario, ya radicados en la capital de la Región de Atacama, fundan la empresa Hormazábal y Masso, la que sirvió por más de 28 años dando servicio a las empresas mineras y de sondaje en alta cordillera, llegando a tener 14 faenas con capacidad de 3 mil operarios.

Paralelo a ello se dedica al rubro inmobiliario y gastronómico, siendo además autor del proyecto de construcción del edificio Cosmocentro Plaza Real, en el cual es copropietario y emprendedor de los restaurantes “Café Haití”, “Tebuk”, “Schopdog”, y Salón de Eventos Medio Oriente, iniciativas gastronómicas de la cual fue testigo informativo Diario Chañarcillo.

Masso también fue el arquitecto y promotor del ascensor panorámico de Plaza Real, frente a la Plaza de Armas, el primer ascensor panorámico frente a una plaza en Chile, facilitándole el acceso a personas con capacidades diferentes y madres embarazadas.

Dentro de sus cualidades destaca su carisma, caballerosidad y cordialidad, como además su solidaridad y humanidad con quien más necesita. Dentro de su trayectoria como empresario nunca tuvo problemas con los trabajadores y en la actualidad está cien por ciento dedicado a sacar adelante al proyecto del Corredor Bioceánico.

Nos confiesa que si tuviera que vivir de nuevo lo haría con más amor a todo lo que le rodea, con más tiempo dedicado para su familia y más adoración al Padre Celestial, pero siempre con María Inés de la mano.

Dentro de su anecdotario, Roberto Masso nos señala que en la época de los años ´80 le solicitaron en tres oportunidades mediante decreto ser Alcalde. Con el transcurrir de los años en otras cuatro ocasiones le pidieron que se presentara como candidato a Diputado, y tan solo meses atrás que se postulara como candidato a Gobernador.

“En todas ellas he dicho que No, porque no he querido involucrarme en la política. Trabajo en Atacama y para la región por 19 años en el proyecto Corredor Bioceánico Ferroviario del NOA y en el mega Puerto Chañaral con mi esfuerzo y con mis propios recursos. Es el proyecto más importante del Cono Sur. También el más potente que beneficiará a toda mi región y al País. Atacama será la puerta alimenticia al Pacífico desde el Sur de Brasil, Paraguay y Uruguay y la macro Zona Atacalar de Argentina para consolidar el proyecto final de dar alimentación a más de mil millones de habitantes de la tierra.

Con esto, también la ciudad de Caldera se transformará en la capital del turismo, pues solo la Zona Atacalar somos 12.500.000 habitantes. Que solo venga el 5 por ciento a nuestras hermosas playas impulsaría enormemente la economía y el turismo local”, subrayó un convencido Roberto Masso que asegura que cada vez está más cerca de cumplirse el anhelado sueño para todos los atacameños.

Finalmente, nos señala que se espera que este 2021 se concrete el gran proyecto Corredor Bioceánico del Noa, el que traerá tremendos beneficios económicos, turísticos, desarrollo inmobiliario y empleos a toda la Región de Atacama, todo ello realizado y empujado con la inspiración y acompañamiento de su amada esposa María Inés.
