El cobre completa su tercera alza consecutiva gracias a China y se aleja cada vez más de su mínimo de marzo
Buenas noticias para las estrechas arcas fiscales del país. Claro porque el precio del cobre, el principal producto de exportación del país, completó hoy su tercera alza consecutiva en el mercado de Londres. De acuerdo a los registros de Cochilco, el metal rojo se cotizó en US$ 2,37115 en la Bolsa de Metales, lo que representa un aumento de 0,54% en relación a la jornada previa.
El alza del valor alienta expectativas de recuperación de la materia prima. En tres días ha subido un 3,35% y un 13,21% respecto a su mínimo anual de US$ 2,0944 que marcó el pasado 23 de marzo.
Con todo, el precio promedio de la materia prima en 2020 llega a US$ 2,48 por libra, 12,65% menos que los US$ 2,843 a igual fecha del año pasado.
La gran referencia para el precio ha sido China, luego de reportar datos relativos al comercio exterior que estuvieron por encima de las proyecciones, una señal de mejora de la segunda mayor economía del mundo y principal socio comercial de Chile.
Las exportaciones chinas aumentaron por sorpresa en abril pese al coronavirus, mientras las importaciones se hundieron. No obstante, las importaciones de cobre que incluyen ánodos, metal refinado y productos semiprocesados, se ubicaron en 461.457,5 toneladas el mes pasado, dijo el jueves la Administración General de Aduanas.
La cifra representa un 4,4% más que las 441.926 toneladas de cobre importadas en marzo y constituye un alza de 13,9% en la comparación a abril del año pasado.
