Con más de mil mascotas intervenidas municipio de Copiapó finaliza programa Mascota Protegida
La iniciativa que se extendió por 2 meses, se realizó junto a la Subsecretaria de Desarrollo Regional
La Municipalidad de Copiapó, junto a la Subsecretaria de Desarrollo Regional (SUBDERE), dieron por finalizado el programa de tenencia responsable y cuidado integral “Mascota Protegida 2022”
La iniciativa que se extendió durante dos meses, permitió intervenir a más de 1.400 mascotas entre perros y gatos, en un total de 20 operativos, con un promedio de 70 atenciones en cada uno de ellos.
El alcalde Marcos López destacó “hoy estamos dando termino a un programa que una vez más fue éxito y que da cuenta que la gente tiene un cariño único y apego hacia sus mascotas por eso a través de estas iniciativas queremos seguir apoyando ese cariño con estos servicios gratuitos. Además, ya estamos trabajando para buscar las fuentes de financiamiento que nos permita continuar con más operativos; pero esta vez de esterilización, que en su primera etapa estará enfocada en los sectores de campamentos donde sabemos existe mucha población de perros callejeros que necesitan una intervención importante”.
López, destacó que “actualmente seguimos trabajando para volver a levantar nuestra veterinaria municipal- que recordemos se quemó- esperamos a partir del segundo semestre de este 2022 y de esta manera poder ampliar la oferta relacionada con el cuidado integral de los regalones del hogar”.
Una actividad que sin lugar a duda agradecieron los vecinos y vecinas que desde temprano llegaron al último día de operativos. Entre ellas Nadia Orrego, quien señaló “me parece bien porque igual hay artos perritos que necesitan apoyo y a veces las familias no tienen dinero para pagar este tipo de cuidados y llevarlo a las veterinarias.
En tanto Tábata Ossandón, junto con agradecer la oportunidad, manifestó “es bonito porque hay gente que no tiene los recursos económicos, además es difícil llevar un gatito, tambien los operativos se hacen temprano y a muchos que trabajamos en las tardes nos acomoda, así que muy bien que se retomen”.
Cabe destacar que los operativos, se extendieron durante marzo y abril y se realizaron en el frontis del municipio.
