Chris Froome anunció «emocionado» su reaparición en el Tour EAU
El británico Chris Froome (Ineos), cuádruple ganador del Tour de Francia, se mostró «emocionado» tras anunciar su reaparición en elTour de los EAU que se disputa del 23 al 29 de febrero, una vez recuperado de la grave lesión que sufrió el pasado mes de junio antes del comienzo de la prueba Dauphiné.
La única carrera del World Tour que se disputa en Oriente Medio será testigo del regreso a la competición de Froome, también ganador del Giro de Italia 2018 y de la Vuelta a España 2017, confirmando su progresión física después del accidente que sufrió el 12 de junio, lo que le permite seguir soñando con el objetivo de lograr el quinto Tour de Francia,
«Estoy muy emocionado por volver a competir en el Tour de los EAU. He hecho un buen bloque de entrenamientos en Gran Canaria y espero dar el siguiente paso en mi recuperación y volver a la fuerza», señaló el británico.
Froome se añadió a una lista destacada de corredores anunciados para el Tour de los EAU, entre los que se encuentran el españolAlejandro Valverde, campeón mundial 2018, el australianoRohan Dennis, que debuta en el Ineos con el jersey arcoíris contrarreloj y el esloveno Tadej Pogacar (UAE), tercero en la Vuelta.
