La Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (Cepal) aplicó un fuerte recorte a las proyecciones de crecimiento para Chile, debido al impacto de la crisis social experimentada durante los últimos meses.
La estimación de la Cepal es incluso más pesimista que las del Gobierno y el Banco Central, pues estima el crecimiento en un 0,8 por ciento para este año y 1,0 por ciento para 2020, recortándolo desde el 1,8 y el 2,3 por ciento, respectivos, de la previsión anterior.
