Cambio de mando en Prefectura de Carabineros de Atacama

En dependencias de la 2ª Comisaría Copiapó se llevó a efecto la ceremonia de cambio de mando de la Prefectura Atacama. Este acto reglamentario fue encabezado por el Jefe de Zona, General Luis Aguilera Mendoza quien destacó los méritos del oficial durante sus años en la Prefectura de Atacama.

El coronel Sales se desempeñó como Subprefecto de los Servicios el 2020 y este año como Prefecto de Atacama, destacando no sólo por su sencillez y carisma, sino también por su profesionalismo y compromiso con el servicio.

Sales Castro entregó el cargo al Teniente Coronel Patricio Martínez Schade, quien a partir de esta fecha asumirá las funciones como Prefecto jefe de la Prefectura Atacama.

El Coronel Sales durante estos meses se desempeñará como Jefe de Gabinete de la IIIª Zona Atacama hasta el 2 de enero de 2022, fecha de la nueva destinación del mando y que corresponde a funciones de jefe del Departamento de Operaciones de la IIª Zona Antofagasta.

En sus palabras de despedida el saliente Prefecto agradeció al personal la lealtad y profesionalismo, lo cual permitió durante su mandato mantener una disminución importante en los delitos de mayor connotación social. También agradeció a la comunidad atacameña la disposición que siempre tuvo con las acciones de prevención impulsadas por Carabineros, las cuales son la base para lograr internalizar las medidas de autocuidado y por ende disminuir los riesgos de accidentes de tránsito como también de hechos delictuales. Finalmente reiteró su llamado a seguir en esta mismo línea, porque ello permitirá continuar mejorando los indicadores en términos de seguridad pública.

En este acto reglamentario los Carabineros también estuvieron acompañados por el Delegado Presidencial de la región Atacama, Patricio Urquieta García, quien destacó la gestión del Coronel Sales Castro.
