Cámara aprobó Proyecto que pide al Presidente de la República crear el Ministerio del Mar
La Cámara de Diputadas y Diputados aprobó la resolución 1076, en la que se le solicita al presidente de la República presentar un proyecto para la creación del Ministerio del Mar.
La iniciativa se aprobó con 98 votos a favor, 13 en contra y 13 abstenciones. «Entre sus funciones se propone que dirija, fomente y coordine el desarrollo de la explotación de recursos del mar y de las actividades marítimas».
En la resolución se indica que «Chile es un país con 4 mil kilómetros de costa junto al Océano Pacífico, lo que constituye un gigantesco potencial para su desarrollo. Ya sea como fuente de recursos alimenticios, como por la facilidad de instalar puertos cercanos a lugares donde se producen riquezas que se exportan»
