Alexa Guarachi pasa a cuartos de final en dobles de Roland Garros
La tenista chilena Alexa Guarachi ganó hy avanzó este domingo a los cuartos de final del cuadro de dobles del Abierto de Francia, Roland Garros, formando binomio con la estadounidense Desirae Krawczyk.
La raqueta nacional (45ª del mundo en la especialidad) y su compañera norteamericana (38ª) dieron la sorpresa de la jornada al dar cuenta de las primeras sembradas del ‘main draw’, la taiwanesa Su-Wei Hsieh (1°) y la checa Barbora Stryvcova (2°).
Con una alta sincronización, tanto en la red como en el juego de fondo, y firmeza a la hora de sacar, Guarachi y Krawczyk lograron marcar las diferencias que le permitieron eliminar a las maximas favoritas al título del tercer Grand Slam de la temporada. El marcador fue de 6-4 y 7-5.
Una hora y 27 minutos necesitaron la chilena y la estadounidense para acceder a la ronda de ocho, donde enfrentarán al binomio que gane el match entre la estadounidense Hayley Carter y la brasileña Luisa Stefani y las japonesas Shuko Aoyama y Ena Shibahara.
Alexa Guarachi, que ya con los cuartos en París se asegura el mejor ranking de su carrera en la próxima entrega, cuenta con 22 títulos de dobles en su carrera.
