Alexa Guarachi a semifinales del dobles en el US Open
La tenista chilena Alexa Guarachi,-ubicada en la casilla 16a en el ranking de dobles de la WTA,- avanzó junto a su compañera Desirae Krawczyk (19a) a las semifinales del torneo de duplas femenino en el US Open, cuarto y último Grand Slam de la temporada.
La pareja chilena-estadounidense se impuso en tres sets por 6-7 (5), 6-2 y 6-3 ante el binomio de las rumanas Monina Nicolescu (60a) y Elena Gabriele Ruse (206a).
Guarachi y Krawczyk buscarán meterse en su segunda final de un Grand Slam, tras la que alcanzaron en Roland Garros en 2020.
Para lograrlo, la chilena y su compañera deberán superar en semifinales a la china Shuai Zhang (22a) y a la australiana Samantha Stosur (34a), en un duelo programado para el viernes 10 de septiembre.
