Boris Johnson seguirá «al mando» del gobierno británico desde el hospital
El primer ministro Boris Johnson seguía el lunes hospitalizado tras mostrar síntomas persistentes de coronavirus desde hace diez días y aunque su gobierno insiste en que continúa al mando deja un vacío cuando la pandemia avanza rápidamente en el Reino Unido.
El líder conservador de 55 años, anunció el 27 de marzo que había dado positivo al test de Covid-19 y permanecería siete días en aislamiento en su apartamento de Downing Street, a cuya puerta se le dejaban comidas y papeles.
Continuó sin embargo encabezando reuniones por videoconferencia y muchos achacaban el lunes a esta falta de reposo el hecho de que el viernes siguiese teniendo fiebre y el domingo su médico decidiera ingresarlo para someterlo a pruebas médicas como “medida de precaución”.
Según el diario The Times, Johnson se encuentra en el hospital St Thomas de Londres, cerca de Westminster, y se le está administrando oxígeno.
Su ejecutivo no quiso precisar qué tipo de tests se le efectúan.
