Urquieta: creemos que tomamos acciones que están acorde con nuestra situación sanitaria
Intendente recuerda que ninguna medida será suficiente si las personas no acatan las normas de distanciamiento social, autocuidado e higiene.

Para hacer frente a la pandemia que afecta al mundo y al país las autoridades han dispuesto una serie de medidas que han sido acatadas, en su totalidad, por el Gobierno Regional, según informó el intendente de Atacama, Patricio Urquieta, quien aseguró que para ello se ha recogido la opinión de expertos, se han sustentado en la experiencia internacional y han tomado muy en cuenta las recomendaciones de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS).
En ese sentido, aunque no descarta abiertamente la opción de aplicar una cuarentena total en el país o, al menos en la región, tal como lo sugieren los integrantes del Colegio de Médicos, como los alcaldes de las nueve comunas y sus habitantes, dijo que con base a las opiniones de diversos expertos “creemos que estamos tomando las acciones que están acorde con nuestra situación sanitaria”.
Sustenta su opinión en el hecho que obliga la necesidad de garantizar un equilibrio entre el cuidado de la salud de las personas, sobro todo en los adultos mayores, como en el desarrollo de la vida de los ciudadanos.
Por ello exhortó a los habitantes de la región a que acaten las sugerencias de la autoridad sanitaria de mantener un distanciamiento social que impida la propagación del virus y que apliquen todas las recomendaciones de higiene.
Esto mismo lo tomó en cuenta para informar que el abastecimiento de la región sigue garantizado y en consecuencia pidió a las personas que hagan las compras de manera razonable para que los demás también puedan tener acceso a estos medios sin tener que esperar la reposición que “diariamente se realiza en los establecimientos comerciales donde se venden productos de primera necesidad”.
Sobre el anuncio de que la Universidad de Atacama (UDA) podrá procesar las muestras de los pacientes con síntomas sospechosos, agradeció a los docentes, directivos y al dedicado trabajo del Servicio de Salud, ya que esto ofrecerá mayor autonomía a la región.
Respecto del toque de queda que impuso el presidente Sebastián Piñera desde el domingo hasta nuevo aviso y cuyo horario comprende desde las 10:00 de la noche hasta las 5:00 de la mañana, se refirió el general de brigada Enrique Heyermann, jefe de Defensa de la región, quien informó que, si bien la comunidad respondió con responsabilidad el llamado a quedarse en casa, hubo siete detenidos por el incumplimiento de la restricción.
Los demás que circularon por las calles durante la noche del domingo y la madrugada del lunes, tenían sus respectivos salvoconductos, por lo que recordó que aquellas personas que obligatoriamente requieran salir, deben tramitarlos en https://comisariavirtual.cl/ con su clave única a fin de evitar la aglomeración en las estaciones policiales.
