La minera canadiense Teck Resources anunció que cambiaría a energía renovable en su mina de cobre Carmen de Andacollo, en Chile.
Las filiales chilenas, Compañía Minera Teck Carmen de Andacollo (CdA) y AES Gener celebraron un contrato de compra de energía a largo plazo para proporcionar energía 100% renovable para la mina.
Según el acuerdo, CdA obtendría 72 MW, o 550 GWh al año, de la creciente cartera renovable de energía eólica, solar e hidroeléctrica de AES Gener.
