Con una espectacular presentación culminó el Team Chile los Juegos Sudamericanos de Asunción. El equipo chileno alcanzó 38 medallas de oro y 131 preseas en total, logrando la mejor marca en los últimos 32 años.
La mejor actuación de un equipo chileno se dio en los Odesur de Lima 1990, donde Chile alcanzó 40 medallas de oro, ubicándose en el tercer lugar del medallero.
Además, con esta presentación, el Team Chile superó la presentación de Cochabamba 2018, aunque le falto una distinción para superar preseas totales. «Estamos muy orgullosos de lo que ha logrado el Team Chile en Asunción. Es un resultado histórico, el mejor en 32 años, y es fruto del esfuerzo de nuestros deportistas y del trabajo serio que venimos haciendo hace 12 años en Plan Olímpico junto al Estado y nuestras Federaciones», comentó el presidente del COCH, Miguel Ángel Mujica, tras la participación de Chile.
