Tarifas de Aguas Chañar subirían 15% para el quinquenio 2019-2024

El superintendente (s) de Servicios Sanitarios, Jorge Rivas, habría indicado en términos aproximados, que las tarifas de Aguas Chañar para el quinquenio 2019-2024 subirán un 15% como consecuencia de la entrada en funcionamiento de la planta desaladora de Atacama.

«Estamos pensando en un alza tarifaria en torno a 15%. Los números van a ser ratificados en el decreto, que aún no es sujeto de toma de razón por parte de la Contraloría; estos son números gruesos, pero esos son, más o menos», dijo Rivas.

La planta, impulsada por la estatal Econssa, considera la extracción de agua de mar y su desalinización en una planta de osmosis inversa. Las instalaciones estarán ubicadas en el sector de Punta Zorro, comuna de Caldera, y desde allí el agua desalinizada será impulsada a los distintos puntos de abastecimiento de la población de Caldera, Chañaral, Copiapó y Tierra Amarilla, que actualmente son alimentadas por el sobreexplotado acuífero del río Copiapó.

La construcción de la planta se ejecutará en tres etapas, las que una vez terminadas permitirán una capacidad máxima final de 1.200 litros por segundo (lt/s) de agua tratada.

El proyecto fue licitado y adjudicado al consorcio Inima-CVV en septiembre de 2017. Las obras comenzaron a ejecutarse el 2 de enero de 2018 y su entrada en operación está prevista para mediados del próximo año.

DIPUTADO NOMAN

Por su parte, como una “muy mala noticia” calificó el diputado e integrante de la Comisión de Recursos Hídricos de la Cámara Baja, Nicolás Noman, el anuncio de una eventual alza de tarifas del agua en Atacama en un 15% por ingreso de dicha planta desalinizadora.

Y es que a juicio del parlamentario este hecho resulta absolutamente innecesario, “creo que hoy las empresas de aguas pueden perfectamente enfrentar esta planta sin tener que cargarle una vez más la mano a los chilenos”.

“Hace un poco más de un mes me reuní con el superintendente de Servicios Sanitarios, para hacerle ver la realidad del agua de nuestra región, que aparte de mala debemos comprar bidones para el consumo humano y pagar la cuenta mensual”, comentó el diputado.

Por esta razón, dijo el diputado por Atacama, “si es necesario me reuniré nuevamente con el Superintendente de Servicios Sanitarios y con todas las autoridades pertinentes para que el alza en el precio del agua no se concrete”.

Y recordó, “hace un mes fuimos testigos del desastre que vivió Santiago con la destrucción de las líneas del Metro por un alza de 30 pesos en el valor del pasaje”. Pues bien, subrayó, “es hora de que las empresas se pongan las pilas y asuman algún costo y éste no sea traspasado una vez más a nuestras vecinas y vecinos”.

Finalmente, el diputado Nicolás Noman hizo un llamado a la Región de Atacama a estar tranquilos frente e este anuncio, “estoy trabajando en ello, nunca los dejaré solos, porque frente a estas materias que los afectan directamente a ustedes siempre he estado y estaré presente”, remató.

AGUAS CHAÑAR

Consultada la sanitaria en torno al tema, desde Aguas Chañar se indicó que la planta desaladora se encuentra en plena construcción por parte del Estado, a través de Econssa, y entraría en operación los primeros meses del 2021. “Esta planta, que es un gran anhelo de la comunidad de Atacama, permitirá dar solución de forma robusta y dará seguridad al abastecimiento continuo de agua potable de la región, incluso frente a eventos de escasez hídrica”, finaliza señalando la empresa en un comunicado.
