La Sala del Senado rebajó a 1.000 pesos los gastos reservados de Carabineros, en el marco de la Ley de Presupuesto 2020 que se sigue tramitando en la Cámara Alta.
Los parlamentarios aprobaron una indicación presentada por la senadora socialista Isabel Allende quien buscaba «dar una señal».
La decisión se dio en protesta por los casos de abusos cometidos por los carabineros, denunciados en el marco de las manifestaciones sociales que ya se extienden por más de un mes, y también como una forma de exigir mayor control por parte las autoridades respecto de la policía uniformada.
«Quisimos dar una señal, no podemos dejar impune la actuación de Carabineros» en este último mes, expresó la senadora Allende.
