Récord: con 25.243 exámenes fueron confirmados 1.479 casos nuevos y 69 defunciones

Después de cuatro días continuos con reportes inferiores a los 2.000 casos, el Ministerio de Salud (Minsal) confirmó este viernes que 2.149 personas, de las cuales 1.479 presentan síntomas y 570 son asintomáticas, fueron diagnosticadas con coronavirus durante la jornada que terminó a las 21:00 horas del jueves; además se anexaron 100 individuos que tenían PCR positivas, pero no han sido notificados.
El leve ascenso se debe, en parte, a que en la última ronda de testeo la Red de Laboratorios registró un nuevo récord de procesamiento de exámenes que cerró con 25.243, cuya positividad fue de 8,51 %; o sea: baja. Hasta ahora el total es de 1.785.858 desde que comenzó la pandemia en Chile.
El ministro de Salud, Enrique Paris, destacó que el país sigue “en una buena senda, con una leve mejoría”, ya que se registra una disminución de los casos confirmados en un 8 % en los últimos siete días y de un 14 % en los últimos 14. Sin embargo, esto no es en todo el territorio nacional; hay regiones que todavía muestran altas cifras, como Atacama, por ejemplo.
Desde la región del Maule el subsecretario de Redes Asistenciales, Arturo Zúñiga, reveló que además de los nuevos diagnósticos el Departamento de Estadísticas e Información de Salud (Deis) actualizó el número de fallecidos a 9.958, con la incorporación de 69 nuevas defunciones que ocurrieron entre el 22 de julio y el 4 de agosto.
Con los nuevos datos el total de afectados por la enfermedad es de 368.825, de los cuales 16.699 siguen activos. De ellos actualmente hay 5.086 hospitalizados, pero 1.348 están en Unidades De Cuidados Intensivos (UCI). 1.044 de este grupo reciben apoyo de ventilación mecánica y 233 de ellos conservan un estado crítico.
