Quedan 11 camas UCI disponibles en la región

La región Atacama tiene una disponibilidad de 11 camas críticas, según informó el director del Servicio de Salud, Claudio Baeza. Cuatro están en el Hospital Provincial del Huasco, cinco en el Hospital Regional de Copiapó y dos en la Clínica Atacama, la cual inició el trabajo de reconversión para poder ampliar su capacidad en los plazos que fijó el Ministerio de Salud (Minsal).

La clínica, que tiene tres camas UCI, una de ellas ocupada, y otras tres en la Unidad de Tratamiento Intermedio (UTI), estima reconvertir tres de estas últimas para ampliar en un 50 % su oferta. Así lo puntualizó el jefe de la Red Asistencial sin ofrecer más detalles de los plazos, aunque Minsal sentenció que el domingo debía haber un adelanto del 20 % y el 15 de junio el total.

En Atacama 10 personas ocupan las camas críticas y solo tres de ellas están diagnosticadas con covid-19; esto obligó a las autoridades a apresurarse en la reconversión, primero, en los hospitales y ahora en la clínica.

Es por ello que, de ocho, que habían originalmente, la red de salud cuenta ahora con 21 distribuidas en las dos UCI ubicadas en los hospitales de Copiapó y Huasco, respectivamente, así como en la clínica. (FKG)
