Ministro de Agricultura se reunió con APECO para coordinar acciones que faciliten la exportación de la uva de mesa atacameña a Estados Unidos

(Por Rodrigo Ferrada).- En el marco de su visita a la Región de Atacama, el Ministro de Agricultura, Esteban Valenzuela Van Treek, sostuvo reunión con la Asociación de Productores y Exportadores Agrícolas del Valle de Copiapó, (APECO), encuentro en el que se trataron diversos temas de trascendencia para la agricultura de la uva regional.

En ese contexto, en la instancia, se discutieron estrategias y acciones para fomentar el cultivo del fruto en Atacama, y además, futuras acciones, donde el Ministerio expresó su compromiso de gestionar con la autoridad Sanitaria de Estados Unidos, (principal destino de la uva de mesa de Atacama), y aprovechando un próximo viaje del Ministro a dicho país, instancias para facilitar la aprobación del sistema “System Approach”, para que así la uva de mesa regional pueda ser exportada prontamente hacía el país del norte esta temporada.

Al respecto, el Ministro de Agricultura, Esteban Valenzuela Van Treek comentó:

“Tuvimos una conversación muy bella,  muy fecunda e inspiradora, tenemos que ponernos las pilas, para lograr por fin, que la autoridad sanitaria estadounidense, permita la exportación de nuestra fruta preferida, que es la uva de mesa, para los hogares, que es muy importante que pueda entrar al mercado norteamericano, en sus mejores condiciones, y acá en la región, gracias al trabajo mancomunado de los servicios de agricultura, el empeño enorme del equipo directivo y ejecutivo de APECO, han logrado un trabajo histórico con el apoyo y alianza estratégica con el Gobernador Miguel Vargas, siempre contando con su respaldo. Así que hoy, junto con conocer esto y ver otros proyectos que tienen que ver con el desarrollo agrícola de la región y la educación rural, nos quedamos con una tarea específica como ministerio, de apurar la aprobación de Estados Unidos de esta exportación, con una mejor trazabilidad de nuestra uva de mesa”.

Mario Holvoet, Presidente de APECO, por su parte, expresó:

“Esta reunión con el Ministro superó nuestras expectativas, porque realmente entendió bien, nos quedamos con la impresión de que es muy ejecutivo, fue concreto en cuanto a los puntos y pasos a seguir, y afortunadamente coincidió con un viaje de él que se avecina, a Estados Unidos, por lo tanto, personalmente hará las gestiones ante las autoridades norteamericanas, para que nuestro producto pueda salir esta temporada”.

Por otro lado, Miguel Vargas Correa, Gobernador Regional de Atacama, comentó:

“Tal como lo manifesté el día miércoles en la comuna de Vallenar, valoramos la presencia del Ministro de Agricultura en la Región de Atacama, para empaparse de la realidad presente, y los desafíos del sector agrícola, de nuestra región, un sector muy pujante, que lleva adelante una gran tarea, porque como lo han dicho siempre los dirigentes de APECO, hacer agricultura en nuestra región es más difícil. Esta reunión ha sido muy productiva, creo que hay elementos importantes que tienen que ver con la exportación de uva de mesa hacia el mercado estadounidense, el principal destino de la uva atacameña, y hay un objetivo claro, que es lograr la aprobación de este protocolo que es el “System Approach”, que va a facilitar enormemente las tareas y en eso el Ministro ha asumido un compromiso bastante claro”.
