Mercado sube a 12,5% proyección de inflación para este año y empeora estimación del desempeño de la economía en 2023

Luego de que el INE informara la semana pasada que la inflación en el país se disparó 1,2% en agosto, para posicionar el dato anual en un rudo 14,1% -su mayor nivel desde septiembre de 1992-, el mercado ajustó sus proyecciones y elevó el techo para la tasa de interés.
Según los resultados de la Encuesta de Expectativas Económicas (EEE) del Banco Central correspondiente a septiembre, los expertos sondeados esperan que la inflación vuelva a marcar un alza en torno a 1% este mes, para luego anotar un incremento de 0,9% en octubre. De esta forma, se prevé que la variación acumulada termine 2022 en 12,5%, por encima del 12,3% pronosticado en la encuesta previa. Para 2023, en tanto, se espera que la inflación culmine en año en 5,5% -por arriba del rango de tolerancia del Banco Central-, pero en línea con las proyecciones de la EEE anterior.
Con estas visiones inflacionarias sobre la mesa, el mercado espera a su vez que la entidad presidida por Rosanna Costa aumente su agresividad para la lucha contra la escalada de precios en Chile. Así, los analistas prevén que la Tasa de Política Monetaria (TPM) llegue a 11% en la próxima reunión, nivel en el cual se mantendría hasta diciembre de 2022 -en línea con el sondeo del mes pasado-.
En cuanto al crecimiento de la economía, los encuestados apuestan que el Indicador Mensual de Actividad Económica (Imacec) comience a arrojar cifras negativas y caiga 0,70%. En términos anuales, se proyecta que el PIB chileno anote un crecimiento de 1,9% en 2022, sin embargo 2023 mostraría un crecimiento negativo, de -0,9% -más bajo que el -0,4% previsto en la EEE anterior-.
