Mañalich enumera los efectos colaterales de las cuarentenas
Ausencia de controles médicos, aumento de violencia familiar, recaída en el consumo de drogas, depresión, hambre e incapacidad de generar un sustento diario, fueron algunas de las consecuencias que el ministro de Salud, Jaime Mañalich, enumeró sobre la aplicación de cuarentenas, por lo que dijo que “siempre hemos señalado que es un instrumento de última razón”.
Esto a propósito de las insistentes consultas sobre los criterios epidemiológicos que se aplican para no decretar, de una vez por todas, un confinamiento total y obligatorio en la comuna de Valparaíso, la cual está dentro de la segunda región más afectada del país con 5.391 contagios y 85 muertes; o sea, 3,78 % del total.
El secretario de Estado admitió que “efectivamente tenemos preocupación por Valparaíso, como lo hemos manifestado repetidamente y ese es motivo por el cual una provincia muy relevante de esa región entra en cuarentena hoy en la noche (ayer martes)”, pero “cada una de estas medidas está en permanente revisión. De hecho, mañana hay que analizar todo el país con los datos recientes que tengamos. No hay que cerrarse a ninguna medida”. (FKG)
