Los astrónomos José Maza y Diego Mardones inauguraron ciclo de charlas ciudadanas de la CChC en Copiapó
Cerca de 800 personas estuvieron presente en las exposiciones de los científicos de las estrellas José Maza Sancho y Diego Mardones Pérez, quienes difundieron sus ideas sobre el espacio, la vida en Marte, las distancias y desplazamientos cósmicos, nuevas tecnologías y con un llamado a despertar la mente y la curiosidad. La actividad dio el despegue inicial a la serie de Charlas Ciudadanas de la CChC junto a Corporación MCMS y que llevan por título “Construyendo un ecosistema Regional”, actividad que se desarrolló al interior del Centro Cultural Atacama, gracias al apoyo del Departamento de Cultura del Municipio de Copiapó.
Guillermo Ramírez Aceituno, presidente de la asociación gremial señaló “para ser honesto, esto tiene un tinte de gusto personal. Cuando yo asumo la presidencia de la Cámara Chilena de la Construcción de Copiapó, siempre propuse que tenía que salir más a la comunidad. Nosotros desarrollamos nuestra actividad económica en Atacama y este territorio está habitado por ciudadanos y con estos ciudadanos nosotros nos relacionamos en nuestra industria. Y ese relacionamiento no es necesario, es una obligación”, esto comentó al término de esta exitosa primera charla ciudadana.
La máxima autoridad de la CChC local, también manifestó que “estamos muy bien encaminados en este desafío de plantear la idea de ‘Ecosistema Regional, que es nuestra creencia de que podemos trabajar en conjunto, que el mundo público-privado, la sociedad civil, estudiantes y la Academia, tenemos que participar de un encuentro donde compartamos nuestras ideas, nuestra visión de país y de ciudad, nuestros deseos de vida. Y partir con los jóvenes es fundamental. Y abrir el diálogo a ellos es el camino correcto, sobre todo llevándolo por este tipo de rutas”.

El astrónomo y Doctor en Astrofísica, José Maza Sancho, señaló tras su participación que “esta es la quinta vez que vengo al Teatro Municipal de Copiapó y quiero felicitar a los copiapinos por tener un teatro tan lindo. La verdad es que recorriendo Chile yo he estado en muchos lugares y creo que hay muy poquitos lugares que podrían competir con este, en cuanto a la calidad y belleza del teatro”
Dentro de su charla “Marte, la próxima frontera”, abarcó diversos puntos, entre los que destacó que “tener conceptos en la cabeza a uno le ayuda en la vida cotidiana. A veces escucho ‘yo no le quiero enseñar Física a las niñas y a los jóvenes, que eso lo aprendan los que van a ser científicos’. ¡No! La gracia es que los que no van a ser científicos, tienen que tener conceptos físicos. ¿Cómo funciona un auto, cómo funciona la tele, una cámara, el sonido? Uno tiene que entender al menos una base y es casi inhumano tener a un porcentaje muy grande de la población, sumidos en la falta de entendimiento del mundo donde estamos metidos”, señaló el Premio Nacional de Ciencias Exactas del año 1999.
Quien lo acompañó en su simposio fue Diego Mardones Pérez, doctor en Astronomía de la Universidad de Harvard, quien mencionó que “es sumamente importante, cuando uno hace estas charlas, poder tratar de darle a entender a toda la gente en la audiencia, el impacto posible que esto puede tener. La verdad es que muchas de las cosas que los astrónomos hacen, dan lo mismo en la práctica, a pesar de que al menos no molestamos. Pero hay tantas cosas que impactan en la forma de vivir, en la forma de llevarnos adelante, de educarnos y ese era el objetivo de esta charla. Yo les hablé un poquito de historia, biología, química, más allá de la astronomía, porque son cosas esenciales”.
Las organizadoras
Paola Bordoli Tiska, presidenta de la Corporación Más Ciencia Más Sueños, señaló tras el evento que «nos pone muy alegres el haber recibido a muchísimas personas en el Centro Cultural Atacama. El teatro estuvo lleno y nos acompañaron colegios de Tierra Amarilla y Copiapó. Esto demuestra que la ciencia y la educación son fundamentales para conformarnos como sociedad, resolver problemas en conjunto y sobre todo, soñar con una mejor región. Nos vamos con una evaluación positiva, más aún viendo al profesor Maza recibir el cariño de la gente y despertar las ganas de aprender más».
Katia Riveros Zepeda, vicepresidenta de CMCMS, relató que “la sensación es de corazón lleno en este rato. Nosotros venimos trabajando junto a la CChC como Corporación, y agradecemos también que ellos hayan puesto la confianza en nosotros para realizar este evento. Nosotros tenemos experiencia en el área de la divulgación de la ciencia, por lo tanto era un desafío hacerlo en conjunto. Esta ha sido una actividad, que como lo destacó el profesor Maza, se viene coordinando hace bastante tiempo y sumamos un éxito al ver a los niños y niñas tan emocionados al escuchar la charla”.
Próximamente se anunciarán nuevas fechas de actividades en este ciclo que lidera la Cámara Chilena de la Construcción. En la actividad realizada esta semana, se realizó una convocatoria abierta y se sumaron distintos establecimientos de la Provincia de Copiapó.
