El inglés Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), líder del Mundial de Fórmula 1, aspira a igualar este año los siete títulos del alemán Michael Schumacher, y este fin de semana tendrá su segunda oportunidad para empatar el récord histórico de triunfos (91) en el Gran Premio de Eifel, el undécimo del certamen, que se disputará en el circuito del Nürburgring (Alemania).
Hamilton pudo haber igualado a Schumacher hace dos domingos, pero se tuvo que conformar con el tercer puesto en Sochi; donde su compañero Valtteri Bottas ganó, por delante del holandés Max Verstappen (Red Bull), el Gran Premio de Rusia.
