Latinoamérica supera cinco millones de casos y se acerca a Europa en muertes
Los países latinoamericanos superaron el jueves la barrera de los cinco millones de casos y se acercaron a la cifra de fallecidos de Europa, con más de 200.000 muertes en los dos territorios, según las cifras de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS).
Latinoamérica registró en las últimas 24 horas, hasta ayer, 50.000 nuevos casos, por lo que la cifra total de contagios en la región es de 5,01 millones. Mientras que los 1.864 fallecidos reportados en la pasada jornada elevan el total a 203.585.
Brasil se mantiene como el país latinoamericano más afectado (y el segundo del planeta), con 2,75 millones de casos y 94.600 muertes; le sigue México con 443.000 infecciones y 48.000 fallecidos (tercer territorio del mundo con más finados), además de Perú (433.000 contagios), Chile (362.000), Colombia (327.000) y Argentina (206.000).
