Inti Salamanca, candidato a diputado por Atacama: “Somos jóvenes de todas las edades que queremos cambiar Chile y Atacama”
Inti Eleodoro Salamanca Fernández, 39 años, abogado de la universidad Arcis en Santiago, nació y creció en el barrio Juan Martínez de Copiapó. Por esto, conoce desde niño los problemas de la ciudad y de toda la región de Atacama.
En mayo pasado, sorprendió a todos con sus casi 10 mil votos que obtuvo para ser alcalde de Copiapó.
Su discurso tiene que ver con su trayectoria profesional. El cuidado del medio ambiente es uno de sus pilares de gestión. En 2007 representó como abogado al sindicato de pescadores de Bahía Chasco que se oponían a la Termoeléctrica Castilla, causa que finalmente fue ganada por la comunidad contra el proyecto de esa central que afectaría gravemente el ecosistema de nuestras costas atacameñas.
“Por años hemos sido el patio trasero de Santiago, donde explotan nuestros recursos y riquezas y nos dejan sólo los pasivos ambientales, como los relaves mineros que ahogan nuestras ciudades. Tenemos 164 relaves en nuestra región. Son foco de contaminación, convertidos en basural urbano, las mineras que los provocaron tienen que hacerse cargo de ellos, y eso no ocurre porque la ley ahora no los obliga. Para eso queremos llegar al congreso, para empujar estos temas a nivel nacional y crear las leyes que posibiliten que Atacama no sufra más con estos pasivos ambientales”, señaló.
Otro de los focos de su eventual trabajo legislativo, será el combate a la corrupción en todos los niveles. “En Atacama hemos visto de cerca el karma de la corrupción, vemos alcaldes destituidos y formalizados, y nos damos cuenta que la corrupción ha calado hondo en nuestro país y nuestra región y ese proceso de degradación debemos pararlo lo antes posible”, afirma Salamanca, quien alegó como abogado contra el fiscal nacional, Jorge Abbott, acusado por notable abandono de deberes por su participación en el desmantelamiento de las investigaciones de financiamiento ilegal de la política en los casos Penta y SQM. También abogó contra esta última empresa por su cuestionada adjudicación de la explotación de litio en el norte del país, temas que han marcado la carrera profesional de Salamanca porque, a su juicio, el tiempo le ha dado la razón en sus posturas.
Inti Salamanca casi llega a sus cuatro décadas de edad, pero se lo ve muy joven aún. Los copiapinos y copiapinas lo ven frecuentemente circular por las calles de la ciudad montado en su bicicleta. Luchamos por terminar con el lucro en la educación el 2011, y ahora estamos preparados para gobernar Chile, junto a la gente, y lograr las transformaciones sociales que el país demanda desde hace muchos años, pero que se notó fuertemente a partir del 18 de octubre de 2019”.
Este joven abogado es fundador del Frente Amplio, conglomerado que apoya la candidatura de Gabriel Boric a la presidencia, y ve con buenos ojos los comicios del 21 de noviembre.
“Esta es una candidatura de la gente, la ciudadanía está detrás de Gabriel -asevera Salamanca-. En nuestra región son muchos los y las independientes que se han sumado a la campaña, muchos más que los partidos que lo apoyan. Eso habla que la candidatura de Gabriel interpreta los tiempos de cambios que estamos viviendo en nuestro país y en Atacama”.
Y los temas de estos tiempos de cambio (Ecología, mayor justicia y participación social), son las banderas que propone este abogado para su trabajo legislativo. “El mundo cambió, Chile cambió y Atacama también, así es que es el turno de una nueva generación política que concrete esas transformaciones. Debemos de dejar de depredar nuestro medio ambiente si queremos heredar un planeta viable a nuestros hijos e hijas”, afirma.
Salamanca, al igual que Boric, insiste que Chile está en deuda con sus regiones “y en especial con Atacama”. Por esto, quiere empujar desde el congreso una ley de rentas regionales, que le permita a los territorios sacar provecho de sus recursos y que no “se los lleven para sus casas los mismos poderosos de siempre”, acusa.
“No puede ser que las grandes empresas mineras de Atacama tengan sus domicilios tributarios en Las Condes. Allá pagan sus impuestos, tienen sus mejores oficinas, y la riqueza la sacan de nuestra tierra”, explica. Según su lema de campaña, Brilla un Nuevo Sol en Atacama, y son los “jóvenes de todas las edades” los llamados a liderar esta tierra en este nuevo amanecer.
