Inicia proceso para proponer ocho representantes indígenas al Consejo Nacional de Conadi
El domingo 29 de marzo de 2020 se realizará en todo el país la votación en que resultarán propuestos cuatro representantes mapuches, un aymara, un atacameño, un rapa nui y uno con domicilio en un área urbana del territorio nacional.

A partir del lunes, 3 de febrero, inicia el proceso de consulta para proponer el nombramiento de ocho representantes indígenas ante el Consejo Nacional de Corporación Nacional de Desarrollo Indígena (Conadi) para inscribirse en el Registro Especial, cuyo proceso estará abierto hasta el 17 de febrero.
Las comunidades y asociaciones tendrán plazo hasta ese día para proponer sus candidatos, los cuales cumplirán funciones durante el periodo 2020 – 2024, según se lee en el comunicado de prensa enviado por la institución.
Ignacio Malig Meza, director nacional de Conadi, destacó la importancia de esta postulación, ya que serán las mismas organizaciones indígenas las que presentarán a quienes “los representarán en esta instancia”.
En ese sentido invitó a todas las personas indígenas a que se inscriban en el registro especial que tiene el servicio para estos efectos y participen de esta consulta sobre los consejeros que tendrán como misión crear políticas públicas para su beneficio.
Los interesados en ser candidatos deben cumplir algunos requisitos que van desde ser mayor de edad y pertenecer a un pueblo indígena reconocido por la ley N° 19.253, hasta poseer calidad indígena y ser propuesto por alguna comunidad o asociación indígena reconocidas por la ley 19.253.
En el proceso pueden votar todas aquellas personas que cuenten con calidad indígena, sean mayores de edad y pertenezcan a una comunidad o asociación indígena. También podrán participar aquellas que, contando con calidad indígena y siendo mayores de edad, no pertenezcan a una comunidad o asociación indígena. Para ello deben inscribirse en el Registro Especial Indígena que estará abierto hasta el 24 de febrero de 2020.
Toda la información sobre este proceso puede ser requerida en la Dirección Nacional de Conadi, así como en las subdirecciones nacionales, direcciones, las oficinas de Asuntos Indígenas, las oficinas de enlace, las del programa Chile Indígena y las del Programa de Información y Difusión de los Derechos Indígenas.
