Gimnasta copiapina Martina Espejo participará en Torneo Sudamericano de Colombia

Con toda la ilusión y ansias de cumplir su sueño de representar al país y a la región, la joven gimnasta copiapina, Martina Espejo Jeraldo, se prepara para el Sudamericano de Gimnasia Rítmica, a realizarse en Cali, Colombia, a principios de noviembre. 

Es así que el Seremi del Deporte, Guillermo Procuriza y la Directora Regional del IND, Maritza Vera, se reunieron en las oficinas institucionales con la deportista y su madre, para reconocerla por la nominación realizada por la Federación Nacional de Gimnasia de Chile que proyecta su carrera a nivel internacional. 

En la oportunidad, las autoridades felicitaron a la joven por este logro en su carrera y la invitaron a que se pueda incorporar el próximo año al programa “Promesas Chile” del Mindep-IND que apoya a los talentos deportivos regionales. Igualmente, el Secretario Regional Ministerial informó sobre la beca del Gobierno Regional del “Team Atacama” para que Martina postule hasta el 23 de septiembre a través de su club a este aporte económico anual. 

En dicho ameno encuentro, la deportista de 14 años, alumna del Liceo Católico Atacama, manifestó su alegría por competir en el extranjero: “Me siento emocionada y feliz porque soy la única del norte que va a competir. Participaré en conjunto, con 5 compañeras y una reserva, que realizaremos esquemas de balón y cintas. Esta es la primera vez que compito en un sudamericano, por lo que estoy ansiosa y espero que me vaya bien. Para eso entreno todos los días”.
