Federer anuncia pronto retiro del tenis
En conversación con el diario alemán Zeit, el suizo reconoció que pese a su naturaleza competitiva, eventualmente tendrá que dejar la actividad profesional, y no ve ese instante como algo lejano:
«El momento de retirarme está cada vez más cerca y soy consciente que echaré de menos el circuito», reveló Federer.
Roger Federer cumplirá 39 años en agosto, por lo que sabe que pronto deberá dejar el tenis profesional.
A pesar de reconocer que el fin de su carrera no está lejos, Roger Federer quiere despedirse a lo grande, y no en medio de la crisis sanitaria que afecta al mundo y que puso en pausa al mundo del deporte:
“Debo ser paciente y seguir trabajando. Hubiera sido fácil para mí retirarme en esta coyuntura, pero quiero seguir dándome oportunidad de disfrutar del tenis. La rehabilitación va bien, me voy a tomar mi tiempo para regresar en plena forma”, comentó el suizo.
Federer tiene planeado retornar al tenis en 2021, donde espera estar en buen nivel para pelear por obtener un nuevo título de Grand Slam, dándole a su trayectoria en el tenis el cierre que merece.
