En Atacama disminuyeron los delitos
El Jefe (S) de la III Zona de Carabineros Atacama, Coronel César Olivares Lagos, manifestó su compromiso con la seguridad pública de la región, a pesar de los buenos resultados en las cifras de delitos de mayor connotación social y el trabajo anexo que está realizando el personal desde que se declaró la pandemia. “Nuestro compromiso es seguir fortaleciendo las acciones de prevención, con el objetivo de brindar la seguridad que la ciudadanía quiere y se merece y, también con la finalidad de evitar los contagios y propagación del Covid_19.
Estos meses han sido bastante complejos para Carabineros, con sobrecarga laboral y también con muchos contagiados dentro del personal y su grupo familiar. No obstante ello, se está trabajando con el compromiso de incrementar la sensación de seguridad en la ciudadanía, y también en seguir disminuyendo los casos de delitos en todos sus ámbitos, explicó el Coronel Olivares. “Nos hemos comprometido a fortalecer nuestras líneas de acción preventivas y esto nos ha dado como resultado, una baja importante en los delitos. De hecho, en la última semana registramos una disminución de -38% en los delitos violentos y una disminución de -73% en los delitos no violentos, es decir, una baja de -65% en los DMCS en la semana del 17 al 23 de agosto y comparados a igual fecha del 2019”.
Dentro de las estadísticas arrojadas en el Sistema Táctico Operativo Policial STOP, el Coronel Olivares destacó también las cifras de los últimos 28 días, las cuales reflejan una importante baja (-45% en los delitos violentos y 64% en los delitos no violentos). “Durante este año y en particular los últimos meses y a pesar de la contingencia sanitaria que estamos viviendo producto del coronavirus, hemos reforzado los servicios, de manera tal de evitar la ocurrencia de delitos. Medidas que nos han permitido una disminución muy importante en lo que va corrido del año (-16%) y en comparación a igual período del 2019”.
No obstante ello, el Oficial Jefe de Carabineros dijo que independiente de las cifras continuarán realizando servicios focalizados y reforzados, porque la idea es detener a quienes cometen delitos y también incrementar la sensación de seguridad en la ciudadanía. Del mismo modo, el Coronel Olivares formuló un llamado a la comunidad a mantener las medidas de prevención y autocuidado, recordando que la seguridad no sólo es de responsabilidad de Carabineros, sino también a todos los actores de la sociedad. Además instó a denunciar los delitos o hechos de violencia donde la ciudadanía pueda ser partícipe o tener conocimiento.
