EEUU desplegará aviones y soldados en el Caribe para operaciones antinarcóticos
La Fuerza Aérea de Estados Unidos enviará cuatro aviones, incluido un sistema de alerta temprana y control aerotransportado E-3 Sentry (AWACS) junto con 200 soldados a la región del Caribe para operaciones antinarcóticos, informó el Comando Sur (SOUTCOM) en un comunicado de prensa.
«La Fuerza Aérea de los EEUU desplegará temporalmente cuatro aviones y tripulaciones en Curazao para apoyar operaciones antinarcóticos mejoradas con socios internacionales que apuntan a los traficantes ilícitos en el Caribe», señala el comunicado.
Según el comunicado, se desplegarán unos 200 aviadores como parte de la operación y dos aviones de patrulla, un E-3 Sentry (AWACS) y E-8 Joint STARS (JSTARS).
Estarán apoyados por dos aviones de reabastecimiento aéreo KC-135 Stratotanker, volarán misiones de detección y monitoreo en el espacio aéreo internacional para ayudar a EEUU y a las autoridades policiales internacionales para interrumpir y derrotar a las organizaciones criminales transnacionales que trafican narcóticos ilegales en la región.
