Diputado Santana pide a Intendente retirar decreto tarifario que aumentará el costo de las cuentas de agua
El diputado por Atacama, Juan Santana, le solicitó al Intendente retirar el decreto tarifario que aumentará el costo de las cuentas del agua en la región para el año 2020 por el inicio de funciones de la planta desalinizadora.
Al respecto, el parlamentario indicó que “ya habíamos advertido de esto hace un tiempo atrás y, es por eso que le estamos pidiendo ahora directamente al Intendente que retire el decreto tarifario”.
Además, Santana agregó que “el estallido social tiene su génesis, en parte, por el alto costo de la vida y los ingresos insuficientes con los que se cuentan. De hecho, un estudio de la Fundación Aquae, indica que la comuna de Copiapó está dentro de las 10 ciudades con el precio del agua más elevado de Latinoamérica, algo que es impresentable y por lo que urge tomar medidas”.
Para cerrar, el diputado advirtió que “la empresa Aguas Chañar, concesionaria de los servicios sanitarios de Atacama, recibió más de 1.600 millones en multas entre 2015 y 2018, entre ellas, por incumplimiento en la calidad del servicio y del agua propiamente tal, lo que nos muestra que aparte de mala calidad del agua, el alza de la tarifa no se justifica. Esperamos que los costos lo paguen el empresariado y no los vecinos y vecinas de la región”.
