Diputada Sofía Cid presenta proyecto de ley para declarar a los pirquineros de Atacama y Coquimbo como Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial
Los antecedentes históricos prehispánicos, dan cuenta de una tradición centenaria del desarrollo de estas actividades extractivas de piedra en un inicio, para luego seguir por los minerales, como oro y cobre en el Norte Chico.
La Diputada por Atacama, Sofía Cid Versalovic, presentó un proyecto de Ley en el cual se quiere declarar la labor tradicional de los pirquineros de las regiones de Atacama y Coquimbo como Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Nación.
Este interés por valorar el aporte de la pirquinería al desarrollo y la historia del norte de Chile nació en una invitación que recibió la parlamentaria a la celebración del Día del Minero, por parte de la Asociación de Pirquineros de Copiapó, donde el presidente de esta organización indicó lo importante que resultaría valorar y rescatar la labor de los pirquineros.
En la ocasión, la Diputada Cid manifestó “tomé la inquietud expuesta por el presidente de la Asociación de Pirquineros de Copiapó y nos pusimos a trabajar en el documento del proyecto de Ley. Invitamos a la Diputada Daniella Cicardini, que también estaba en la misma actividad y se sumó al proyecto”.
Según lo explico Sofía Cid, “valorar, rescatar y sobre todo, mantener vivas las tradiciones de los pirquineros es lo que buscamos con este proyecto de ley. La idea es declarar la labor tradicional de los pirquineros de las regiones de Atacama y Coquimbo como Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de Chile”, argumentó.
“Para quienes han vivido su vida en el cerro, buscando la veta, muchas veces junto a su familia, donde el oficio de saber catear, descubrir, explorar y sacar el mineral desde la tierra se ha pasado de una generación a otra, es sin duda, una forma de que Chile valore y agradezca por ese esfuerzo”, dijo la Diputada Cid, agregando además que “esta actividad de los pirquineros ha sido un motor activador de las economías locales en todas la localidades donde se ha desarrollado”.
La parlamentaria manifestó que esto tiene además un significado más profundo, ya que al darle la categoría de Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial, el Estado por medio de la Convención para la salvaguardia del patrimonio cultural inmaterial 2003, debe constituir las medidas encaminadas a garantizar la viabilidad del patrimonio cultural inmaterial, comprendidas la identificación, documentación, investigación, preservación, protección, promoción, valorización, transmisión -básicamente a través de la enseñanza formal y no formal- y revitalización de este patrimonio en sus distintos aspectos.
