Con Renault Fernando Alonso vuelve a la F1

Fernando Alonso volverá a la Fórmula 1 la próxima temporada con Renault F1, después de dos años en los que ha estado asumiendo nuevos retos en su trayectoria deportiva. Durante este tiempo, el español ha ganado los títulos del Mundial de Resistencia, las 24 Horas de Daytona y ha debutado en el Rally Dakar, todo con Toyota. También ha participado en las 500 Millas de Indianápolis, prueba donde correrá también en 2020, con el objetivo de hacerse con la triple corona.

En 2021 aprovechará una de las pocas oportunidades que se le han presentado para regresar a la Fórmula 1, puesto que los asientos en los equipos de primera fila – Ferrari, Mercedes o Red Bull – están ocupados, y otra de las opciones posibles, Racing Point (Aston Martin en 2021) es demasiado arriesgada.

Volver a Renault es como volver a sus inicios, el regreso a la escudería donde empezó todo allá por 2003, el primer año en el que Alonso corrió en la Fórmula 1 con la escudería gala tras un año de titular en 2001 con Minardi y después de una temporada como probador en 2002 con Renault. En 2003, Alonso logró su primera pole position (en el GP de Malasia) y también su primera victoria, en Hungría.
