CChC Atacama y Codelco Salvador fortalecen trabajo conjunto para potenciar a empresas locales
Ambas instituciones buscan impulsar una labor que apunte a proyectar a la región de Atacama hacia el futuro.
Para seguir fomentando la consolidación de un ecosistema regional que permita fortalecer a trabajadores y empresas locales y tomando en cuenta el impacto económico, productivo y social que tendrá en Atacama el proyecto Rajo Inca, representantes de la Cámara Chilena de la Construcción (CChC) Copiapó, liderados por su vicepresidente, Jaime Garín, se reunieron en la ciudad minera con el gerente general de Codelco Salvador, Christian Toutin.
Cabe destacar que Rajo Inca considera una inversión para su etapa de construcción de US$1.383 millones y la generación de 2 mil 400 empleos, además de contemplar un cambio estructural en su operación cambiando de mina subterránea a rajo abierto, lo que permitirá extender en al menos 47 años más el funcionamiento de un proyecto marcado por ser parte fundamental de la historia de la región y también del país.
“Si bien el Rajo Inca beneficiará a todos nuestros compatriotas, este es un proyecto para la región de Atacama. Y para ello, necesitamos concadenar a las empresas de la zona para que puedan responder a los requerimientos que la industria minera necesita. De esta manera, el trabajo mancomunado con entidades como la Cámara resulta primordial en esta cadena de valor que queremos entrega a nuestra zona”, explicó Christian Toutin, gerente general de Codelco Salvador.
Por su parte, Jaime Garín, vicepresidente de la CChC Copiapó, destacó la instancia, indicando que “creemos que esta importante instancia es fundamental para seguir afianzando lazos de confianza y un trabajo con objetivos concretos entre distintos actores de la región de Atacama, que tiene como foco principal potenciar lo local y prepararnos de buena manera para el proceso de descentralización que avanza en el país”.
Entre otras iniciativas que se proyectan concretar entre ambas instituciones, se contemplan espacios para difundir licitaciones, nivelación de proveedores -en ámbitos de alta importancia como seguridad laboral- y jornadas para que contratistas de la región conozcan procedimientos y exigencias por parte de Codelco para poder ser parte de sus proyectos.
La puesta en marcha de Rajo Inca está contemplada para el segundo semestre de 2023 y se proyecta un impacto de un 3% en el PIB regional, un alza de un 9% en la empleabilidad de la zona y que, por cada dólar invertido en el proyecto, el retorno económico será de 6,2 dólares para Chile.
