Balance nacional agregó 184 nuevos decesos y 5.607 contagiados
El ministro de Salud, Enrique Paris, informó que se decretó cuarentena para las comunas de Antofagasta y Mejillones, sumándose a ellas Tocopilla.
(Por Frenny Kelly Granado). Un total 184 personas fueron incluidas a las estadísticas nacionales de fallecidos en el balance entregado este domingo por el Ministerio de Salud (Minsal). La cifra actualizó los números entregados durante el último mes y tienen fecha de corte el viernes, 19 de junio. En total Chile registra 4.479 muertes confirmadas por coronavirus.
El subsecretario de Redes Asistenciales, Arturo Zúñiga, también informó que hasta el sábado a las 9:00 de la noche se diagnosticaron 5.607 nuevos pacientes, en los 20.115 exámenes que informaron 89 laboratorios del país. 4.181 de ellos presentaron síntomas asociados a la enfermedad y 594 fueron asintomáticos; en tanto 832 corresponden a los que no habían sido notificados hasta la fecha.
Esto da un acumulado de 242.355 casos positivos en el país, de los cuales 37.307 siguen activos, siendo 8.701 de ellos los que están hospitalizados en camas básicas, medias de Unidades de Tratamiento Intermedio (UTI) y Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI).
Respecto a la cantidad de personas que están en camas críticas Zúñiga dijo que son 1.996, de los cuales 1.713 permanecen conectados a ventilación mecánica, lo que deja un total de 302 respiradores artificiales disponibles en el país.
El subsecretario indicó que el total de casos probables acumulados es de 21.897, cuya categoría fue incluida en el balance semanal que publica la plataforma de vigilancia epidemiológica (Epivigila), con datos del Departamento de Estadísticas e Información de Salud (Deis).
En la ocasión, el ministro de Salud, Enrique Paris, informó que, tras una reunión con la Mesa Social liderada por el Presidente Sebastián Piñera, se decidió decretar cuarentena obligatoria para las comunas de Antofagasta y Mejillones, sumándose a ellas Tocopilla, basado en el aumento de casos en la zona que incluso llevaron a Codelco a suspender sus proyectos y mantener Chuquicamata con personal de Calama.
